The Oakville Museum presents an Easter Eggs-travaganza

March 29, 2010 – For immediate release
The Oakville Museum invites the whole family to celebrate all things Easter with a spectacular Easter Eggs-travaganza event on Saturday, April 3, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m. for just $5 per person.

Watch a demonstration of “Pysanky” Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating and join craft expert Catherine Bond as she brings her unique creative vision to transform real eggs into original works of art. Easter eggs are believed to bring health, happiness and prosperity and symbolize the gift of life.

“We’re really excited with all the elements of our event this year,” said Susan Crane, officer of Learning and Community Development for the Oakville Museum. “There is something for the entire family from demonstrations and displays to contests and crafts.”

Children can take part in hands-on Easter activities including special crafts and contests in the activity room. Parents will enjoy the decorated egg display as well as local collector Mr. Ross Wark’s eclectic collection of eggcups, which will be at the museum from March 23 through April 11, 2010.

The Oakville Museum, located at 8 Navy Street, is a beautiful estate home and gardens set on the shores of Lake Ontario, near downtown Oakville. The museum presents Oakville’s history in the home of Oakville’s founding family, the Chisholms.
