Swimmers blast off at 43rd annual Novice Swim Meet on August 27 at Brookdale Pool

The Town of Oakville will host the 43rd annual Novice Swim Meet on Tuesday, August 27 from 8 a.m. to noon at Brookdale Pool. With an outer space theme, over 300 participants aged five to 14 representing nine different town pools will compete in a friendly “pool versus pool” competition for the championship!

“This event is a real crowd-pleaser and has been a hit with families for over four decades,” said Nina de Vaal, director of Recreation and Culture for the Town of Oakville. “Once again, we’re raising money for the Lifesaving Society’s Water Smart Campaign, which promotes water safety and teaches essential drowning prevention techniques.”

Oakville residents are invited to take advantage of family-friendly games and activities in the park including an appearance by Buddy the Lifeguard Dog from the Lifesaving Society. BBQ and refreshments provided by M&M Meats will be available with all proceeds to the Lifesaving Society’s Water Smart Program.
