April 16, 2010 – For immediate release
There’s no better way to celebrate Earth Day in Oakville than by learning how to live greener every day! On April 22, the town hosts Living Earth Day Every Day, a celebration of Earth Day’s 40th anniversary in the South Atrium of Town Hall from 6 to 9 p.m.

“I invite everyone to come take advantage of the information and exhibitors that will be gathered together at Town Hall for this fun, free event,” Mayor Rob Burton said. “Council encourages all residents to learn as much as they can about how to care for our environment — something the town is striving to do in our day to day operations.”

Bring the whole family! There’s something for everyone, including:

A workshop on cooking local food with Nadine Hughes of The Cook’s Companion
Earth Day cake cutting with Mayor Rob Burton
Hands-on demos of energy-efficient technology and green gardening
Displays and information from:
Earth Day Canada
Oakville Hydro
Union Gas
Oakville Horticultural Society
Halton Enablers of Renewable Energy
Oakville Sustainable Food Partnership
Oakville Public Library
Town departments

Win a rain barrel, solar charger, green gardening gift basket or $200 off a new bicycle! Plus take advantage of giveaways of great green products including Energy Saving Kits from Union Gas — a $35 value.
