March 23, 2010 – For immediate release

The Town of Oakville invites boaters and all outdoor enthusiasts to the annual boating expo taking place Saturday, March 27 at Town Hall from 1 to 5 p.m.

Oakville has always been known as a boater’s paradise. With two scenic harbours to enjoy – Oakville Harbour in downtown at Sixteen Mile Creek and Bronte Harbour at the mouth of Twelve Mile Creek – Oakville is the place to take advantage of fun on the water.

At this year’s expo, you can enjoy dozens of exhibits featuring everything you need to know about boating, the marinas and harbours. Admission is free and includes a performance by well-known local trio Fiddlestix, presented by Hush.

“We are very excited to have a number of excellent exhibits lined up this year,” said Heather Turenne, manager, Harbours and Cemeteries. “There is something for everyone to enjoy, from the novice boater to the most experienced.”

All of the town’s boating clubs will be represented, plus there will be refreshments and give-aways. Come discover the amazing waterfront and find out why our harbours make Oakville the most livable town in Canada.
