Construction of Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park continues

The Town of Oakville recently launched phase two of construction of Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park located at Jones Street and Ontario Street.

Phase two of construction includes upgrading existing open spaces, creating additional walkways to the street and gardens, and installing new infrastructure for lighting, catch basins and storm sewers.

Crews will re-sod and groom areas impacted by the upgrades as required. Construction on the park will continue as weather permits and is expected to be completed by spring 2011.

As part of the Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, the Town of Oakville officially opened the Bronte Donor Recognition Garden in June. In keeping with the original Bronte Butterfly Park vision, the park includes unique landscaped gardens, an impressive gazebo, and donor recognition in the form of brick pavers, trees and benches.

Funding for phase three work will be considered as part of the 2011 budget process.
