Milton can be found 40 km west of Downtown Toronto, along the 401, and on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment. In 2006 Milton was discovered to be the fastest growing municipality in the Greater Golden Horseshoe, it has continued to grow, the city’s population in 2012 was estimated to be about 95,000. Milton has also been recognized for having one of the highest household incomes in the Greater Toronto Area. Milton belongs to the Halton Region.
Although not far from the city, Milton offers many outdoor adventures, such as Glen Eden Ski, Snow board and snow tubing park, a popular winter destination for the whole family. Crawford Lake Conservation Area has 232 hectares of Niagara Escarpment park, a rare meromictic lake, (multiple layers in the water that do not intermix), and a 15th century reconstructed Iroquoian Village and heritage site.
