A Career Choice That May Exceed Expectations

Has your career choice met your expectations? Greg Parker’s has. Greg’s decision to become a REALTOR® not only met his expectations, it exceeded them.

“It is incredibly dynamic and you learn to take on many different roles and duties, all in the course of a single day,” he says. “The satisfaction of taking on a challenge that requires all your skills, talents, and attention is really gratifying.”

What makes it all the more satisfying for Greg is that he launched his career at a time when the economy was struggling.

“I was able to build a great career while industries suffered. Although the technology and access to information is changing, there continues to be a need for experienced and knowledgeable REALTORS®, and I don’t see that changing any time soon,” says Greg.

There is a need for experienced and knowledgeable REALTORS® because buying, selling, and investing in property is complex and time-consuming. REALTORS® study and follow market trends and can determine the true value of a property because they have access to the MLS® System. REALTORS® are impartial and are able to deal with the facts when marketing a property. REALTORS® can provide objective feedback about why a property is not selling and make recommendations based on knowledge and experience. REALTORS® have the knowledge and experience to negotiate on behalf of clients and close a transaction successfully.

“REALTORS® are professionals trained to handle a myriad of possible scenarios,” says Greg. “We are consultants, financial advisors, project managers and, sometimes, even therapists to our clients.”

The secret to Greg’s success is not really a secret; it’s putting the needs of clients first. These types of REALTORS®, says Greg, will always be in demand. What Greg also offers is a unique marketing plan for buyers and sellers based on their needs, timelines, and availability.

“I do everything from providing clients access to a team of approved contractors and home improvement professionals to offering initial staging consultations by certified stagers.”

In addition to unique marketing plans, Greg provides high quality, full-colour brochures, a dedicated web page, and property videos. And, he constantly adds services to make his business better.

Greg’s commitment to his clients stems from his business philosophy: he wants to change the way people buy and sell real estate. Therefore, he strives to exceed expectations and in so doing, earn referrals. After all, word of mouth is one of the best forms of marketing in real estate.

“I see myself growing a real estate team within the next five years and having a strong referral client list based on the work that I am doing now,” says Greg, “I also want to get into the investment side of real estate in Toronto and vacation properties abroad. Once I have more experience, I would like to become a teacher or mentor and help others in real estate lift the profession even higher.”

Greg’s ambition is simple – he hopes to rise to the top – a goal that requires a solid educational foundation. Greg is a graduate of OREA Real Estate College.

Greg is a salesperson with Keller Williams Advantage Realty, Brokerage.
